Privacy statement
Last updated August 2026. This statement covers tickboxtool.co.nz and the enquiries people send us through it. It does not govern personal information held inside the Tickbox application at tickbox.nz or on customer subdomains; that information is handled under the relevant Tickbox customer agreement and the MOCA terms and conditions.
What we collect and why
When you send us an enquiry we collect your name, the organisation you work for, your work email address and your phone number. We collect them for one reason: so we can reply to you. You give them to us voluntarily, and if you would rather just ring us, 07 542 3453 works fine and collects nothing.
When you use the enquiry form we also collect a small amount of technical information so we can tell a person from a bot: your IP address and some basic signals about your browser, passed through Cloudflare Turnstile. We keep the page you enquired from, so we know which part of the site prompted it.
When you browse the site we collect standard analytics information through Google Analytics and Google Ads: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what brought you here, and whether an advertisement did. This uses cookies. Nothing in it identifies you by name.
If you send us an enquiry after arriving from one of our advertisements, we pass your email address and phone number to Google in an encoded form so Google can tell us that its advertisement worked. Google receives it hashed rather than in the clear, and uses it to match against its own records. This is Google's enhanced conversions feature.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked us a question, and we do not have one to add you to.
Who else handles it
Running a website means other companies handle your information on our behalf. Ours are:
- Cloudflare, which serves this website, provides the anti-bot check on our forms, and stores enquiries so one cannot be lost.
- SparkPost, which delivers the email your enquiry becomes.
- Google, for website analytics and advertising measurement.
- SiteHost, in Auckland, which hosts the Tickbox application itself. Your enquiry does not go there.
Where it is kept and for how long
Your enquiry is stored by Cloudflare and delivered by SparkPost, and both operate internationally, so it may be held outside New Zealand. The Tickbox application itself is a different thing: it runs on SiteHost in Auckland, and the induction records in it stay in New Zealand.
We keep enquiries for 6 months, after which they are deleted. If you become a customer, your information is then held under the MOCA terms and conditions instead.
Your right to see it or correct it
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email hello@tickbox.nz and we will come back to you within 20 working days, which is what the Act allows us.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for analytics and advertising measurement, as described above. It does not use them for anything else, and there is nothing on this site that requires you to accept them. You can block or clear cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
